I just went on an odd adventure around the house, from second floor to first floor to basement then back up again... all because of my odd cat, Buzz.
Buzz is an orange tabby cat who we adopted just around two months or so ago, along with his friend Ginger, who is a brown tabby. Anyway, Buzz is never around the house, you can never find him before he runs away. So tonight I open the door to go downstairs and get a water bottle so I can continue watching my anime. And there he is outside my door.
So he doesn't even run away, which is odd enough on its own. It's dark out, and theres a cat outside my door. He meows and just before I get to touch him Ginger appears and they hiss at each other. Ginger runs away and watches us from a distance.
Buzz starts mrowing and leading me step by step down the stairs. He will sniff my hand, then step two steps down, then look up at me with his adorable huge blue eyes, and make me step down next to him. So soon enough, he leads me into the entirely dark first floor, and all I can see is his bright orange tail as he walks into the dark, leading me somewhere.
I bump into a table, which is enough to scare him out of his mind. But instead I turn on a light and see he is already half way down the basement stairs.
I contemplate this for a moment. It's about 11 o' clock, the perfect time for some freaky stuff to happen. Especially Alone. In a basement. And right in the middle of watching a horror anime. Not the best mix.
So I follow him down anyway, and sure enough so does Ginger. My basement is weird. The stairs lead to a fork in the road. Theres a living room to the left, and two doors to the right. One of the doors opens into an endless pipe room and the other leads into another living room. Off of the second living room are two guest bedrooms, a closet, and a bathroom down a long and not lit hallway. Spooky, eh?
So I turn on the lights. He's not in the living room to my left. So Ginger comes up and nuzzles my leg to accompany me, walking into the pipe room and showing me around, creeping behind corners I never knew were there.
Then, the light in the second family room flicker on and off, on and off. I grab Ginger and run upstairs, through the kitchen, grabbing a water bottle and running upstairs.
I have no idea what was downstairs. I'll investigate in daylight tomorrow.
But now all I hear is Buzz mrowing downstairs. I lost Ginger in the midst of it all, but she's safe because she's Ginger. And... out of the corner of my eye... I just keep seeing a silhouette of a cat...
